If you're thinking of visiting our Sunday Service in West Bridgford, we have put together the following questions and answers so you know what to expect.
Please note that some weeks we have additional evening services and twice a year we join with other network churches in Nottingham for a joint celebration service. Please view the calendar on the bottom of our home page to double check when and where our services are.
We meet at The Rock Hub on Wellin Lane in Edwalton. See the Map and directions on this page. Our address is 13-15 Wellin Lane. (Postcode for Sat Navs is NG12 4AS.)
If you are coming by bus, then the city bus green line number 6 terminates just 200 yards from The Rock Hub. See the timetable here.
Doors open at 10am - you are welcome to arrive anytime after that. The service starts at 10.30am exactly (preceded by a 3 minute countdown on the big screen) and finishes around 12pm). You are invited to stay afterwards to enjoy a chat over some refreshments or make use of our prayer team who would be happy to pray for you.
There is visitor's parking round the back of the building, please do make use of this as priority. If the car park is full then you can park on the road. Either way, look out for our car parking stewards in hi-vis clothing, they will point you in the right direction. (See the end of the each video for parking options.)
Yes, both in the ladies, disabled and creche toilets. Please ask a steward for help or to point you in the right direction if needed.
Yes. We have a creche area for babies. This is accessed via the main hall through a door to the right of the stage . You are welcome to use this facility at any time. It is unmanned, but there is a live video link to the service so you don't have to miss out on anything.
Yes. We have two groups, Mini-Rockers (Pre-School aged 2-4 years) and Rock Stars (Primary school aged) The children go out after worship for fun, interactive, faith based session with our leaders.
RYG is our Rock Youth Group and they have their own session during the service which they go into after worship. They have recently been going through the Purpose Driven Life book together.
There is ramped access from the back of the car park round to the front entrance. There is a disabled toilet also.
There are no set seating plans, you can sit wherever you feel most comfortable, including the soft seating around the back of the hall.
No. Come as you feel comfortable - jeans and T-shirt wouldn't be out of place, but feel free to come smart if that is your preferred style!
After a brief welcome, the band lead everyone into a few songs - usually modern worship songs that help people connect with God. Then we receive an offering from our members (we don’t expect visitors to give, but you are welcome to).
Next up, could be any one of several things happening. It may be communion (normally the first Sunday of the month), a ministry being showcased, people coming into membership, someone being honoured or a time for members to share about an answer to prayer, a healing or a breakthrough.
Towards the end of the service someone preaches a message with the intention of speaking a word from God straight into people’s lives. This normally lasts around 30 minutes, makes use of multimedia and leaves you with something to apply in your life.
Click on one of the three headings below...
From the Wheatcroft Island (A606), after half a mile turn right onto Village Street, then after 200 yards turn left onto Wellin Lane. The Rock hub is 300 yards down Wellin Lane on the right hand side.
If travelling from Grantham A52, 3 miles past Radcliffe at the Gamston Roundabout, take the first exit (left) continuing on the A52 (Lings Bar Road). After just under a mile veer right and turn into the Gamston District Centre. At the next roundabout turn left onto Beckside. Follow the road through the estate for just under a mile and at the roundabout turn left onto Alford Road, after 300 yards (passing the Meadow Covert Pub on your left), follow the road round to the right (Wellin Lane) The Rock Hub is then 150 yards up on your left hand side.
If travelling from the City, at the 'BBC / NHS Walk in Centre' roundabout, travel South towards West Bridgford on the A60. After about a mile you will pass over Trent Bridge (stay in middle lane), then after half a mile veer left continuing on the A60 (Melton Road). Stay on this road for another mile (past the shops and driving up the hill). At the top of the hill at the junction, go straight over, then after a mile turn left onto Village Street. Then after 200 yards turn left onto Wellin Lane. The Rock hub is 300 yards down Wellin Lane on the right hand side.
